| Slate
is a fine grained metamorphic stone used for floors,
backsplashes and fireplaces. As slate is a porous
material, it should be sealed to prevent or minimize
staining.
Typically, a seal is
applied after the slate has been installed. It is like a coat of armour for your
stone. Most seals penetrate the upper surface and protects the
surface from
soil, scratches and oils.
During
restoration, slate floors are usually deep cleaned, old sealers are
stripped and new sealers are applied.
A proper stone
sealer protects your slate
against water and oil staining while allowing your substrate
to properly breath. Do not use wax or acrylic type
sealers.
Wanting to darken, highlight and enhance the
beauty and character of the stone? Use an enhancing sealer.
Looking for a "wet look"?
Choose a high gloss sealer it will enhance the stones' vibrant colors and
boost the
floors' splendor.

Seal
your floors to show
off its' undeniable character while protecting your investment.
